The village has over 30 different organisations, all of which are keen to welcome new members and newcomers to the area.

For children there are Anchor Boys, Badminton, Boys' Brigade, Brownies, dancing classes, football and hockey training, Girl Guides, two karate clubs, a parent/toddler group, playgroup, Rainbow Guides, Sunday School, Youth Fellowship, theatricals, and a youth drop-in centre. There are two play parks and children are able to play safely with their friends in the village situation.

Adults have the opportunity to take part in angling, badminton, indoor and outdoor bowling, bridge, choral singing and opera, folk singing, football, keep-fit, rambling, and the Women's Guild.

For senior citizens, there is a Friendship Club, which meets regularly and goes on organised outings. There is also a regular meals-on-wheels service.
