Tarves is fortunate in being in the centre of great golf course country.

There are courses within six miles at Ellon and Oldmeldrum. Memberships are available at both McDonald Golf Club, Ellon and Oldmeldrum Golf club and green fees are reasonable. There is also the private Meldrum House Golf Club at Oldmeldrum.

Championship courses are also easily accessible.

At Newmachar, just 20 minutes away, there are two superb courses, which have hosted major European tour and top youth and amateur competitions.

And at Cruden Bay, just a little further away, there is one of the world's top links courses. Also nearby on the coast are Royal Aberdeen and Murcar, which are also ranked among Britain's top courses.
