URGENT – ARCHAEOLOGICAL DIG NEEDS VOLUNTEERS 15th to 17th MAY

Do you fancy helping in an archaeological dig?  Have you done and this before or just wanted to help the ‘time team’?

Aberdeenshire Council are looking urgently for volunteers to help with a project dig at Haddo Country Park.

Archaeologists are carrying out a buildings survey on the old Haddo ice house next week on the 15th, 16th and 17th of May. There is an opportunity for volunteers to assist the archaeologists, for around 5 volunteers per day to help out and get some experience of this type of work. Hours are 9.00am-4.00pm.

The site is adjacent to the main car park and welfare facilities are relatively close to the site. Volunteers would need to make their own way to Haddo, but reasonable expenses can be paid if evidence of expenditure in relation to the volunteering is kept.
