MADELEINE HAND and LUCY NEWTON
10 April to 3 May, 2016

We are pleased to invite you to the opening of our new exhibition on Sunday 10 April from 2 pm to 5 pm. Please feel free to bring friends and family and enjoy a wonderful exhibition by two superb artists.

Madeleine Hand graduated from Glasgow School of Art, where she specialised in illustration. Her wonderfully lyrical figure paintings are defined by an immaculate sense of line and colour, coupled with an unerring eye for making the everyday moments of life beautiful. In huge demand, she exhibits widely and divides her time between painting, commissions and teaching

Lucy Newton was raised on a farm; she was fascinated by wildlife and developed a deep love of nature from an early age. A graduate of Edinburgh College of Art, she creates beautifully observed studies of native Scottish wildlife. Rather than exact realism, she aims to express the beauty and energy of her subjects. She is currently Wildlife Artist in Residence for the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland.

Images and full details of the exhibition will be added to the website shortly before the exhibition opens. The paintings have not yet arrived but we know it will be a very special show.

We hope to see you a week on Sunday,
Joan and Danny Ross

Do look out for our weekly blogs on the gallery website, published each Wednesday. They cover all sorts of topics; recent blogs include ‘In the spotlight: Alice McMurrough and Neil Macdonald’ and ‘Frogs and courgettes — a normal afternoon’. Lucy Newton is currently writing a blog which we’ll publish shortly and Madeleine Hand may also write one.
