Opening of Exhibition – Catriona Millar In Colourful Company – May 2015

Catriona Millar
In Colourful Company

24 May to 21 June

We are delighted to invite friends to join us at the Private View of Catriona Millar In Colourful Company on Sunday 24 May from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm.

Enjoy the opportunity to view a Solo Exhibition by Catriona Millar along with a collection of paintings by eight exceptional Scottish artists known for their colour: Carol Dewart, Jackie Gardiner, James Harrigan, Amaryllis Johnston, Jennifer Mackenzie, Jacqueline Orr RSW, James Orr and Marion Thomson. Scottish artists are renowned for their colour and these artists all display an acute colour sense.

Catriona Millar is one of Scotland’s most collectable artists. In 2012 she relocated to East Sussex, so we are delighted to be hosting the first body of her work to be shown in Scotland since she moved.

“Up close the viewer is tempted to reach out and touch the canvas, so packed is it with paint. While this might be seen as simply a preferred painting technique, the depth of character and subtle nuances of narrative that Catriona Millar achieves is what sets her figurative work apart from anything else you’ll see.”

All work will be on the gallery website tolquhon-gallery.co.uk shortly before the exhibition opens next week.
