VISIT TO HADDO HYDRO SCHEME AND BIOMASS ENERGY PROJECT

Aberdeenshire Environmental Forum FREE visit to small scale Hydro scheme and Biomass Project on Haddo Estate, Methlick

On Wednesday 18 July 2012, Aberdeenshire Environmental Forum are organising a visit to the small scale Hydro Scheme and Biomass Boiler project in operation at Haddo Estate. The visit is open to anyone interested in seeing and learning more about these renewable energy schemes, staff from Haddo Estate have kindly agree to lead, and provide information during, the visit.

The Hydro Scheme produces up to 16 kilowatts of power and utilising an Archimedean Screw generator. The biomass project utilises wood chips from timber grown on Haddo Estate and provides heating and hot water for 22 affordable houses and, very shortly, the local primary school.
